Veterinary Radiology

Our medical imaging technology is our best diagnostic aid, it allows us to take pictures of the inside of any animal, big or small.
With these images, we can quickly diagnose an ailment or injury that cannot be detected with a basic physical examination or blood test to examine bones, joints and all of the major organs of the body.

We offer two types of imaging services::

  • Digital X-Rays
  • Ultrasounds

X-rays are one of the most common diagnostic tools in veterinary medicine. At our clinic, we use an enhanced digital x-ray machine to examine bones and joints as well as internal organs like the heart, lungs, and the abdominal organs, among others.

When are Digital X-Rays Necessary?

There are many reasons why we might recommend taking an x-ray, these are some of the most frequent:

  • When we suspect there might be an internal injury due to trauma.
  • To evaluate a broken bone.
  • To locate objects that your pet might have swallowed.
  • To detect bladder stones.
  • To diagnose chronic arthritis.
  • To diagnose spinal cord diseases to diagnose spinal cord diseases and cancerous growths.

Benefits of Using Digital X-Rays

  • The examination is fast, easy, non-invasive and pain-free.
  • Digital x-rays provide clear images of both bones and organs.
  • It offers a wide viewing area.
  • It is a low-risk procedure, as the animals are only momentarily exposed to a very low dose of radiation.

Animal ultrasounds have become one of the most powerful diagnostic tools in our practice. The ultrasound’s waves generate high-quality images of the internal organs of your pet which which helps us to accurately diagnose it’s condition.

When are Ultrasounds Necessary?

The images created by the ultrasound technology we use, make them ideal for examining and diagnosing illnesses or medical conditions in many organs, including:

  • Liver
  • Kidneys
  • Spleen
  • Gallbladder
  • Heart

An ultrasound is also helpful for:

  • Monitoring pregnancy
  • Detecting tumors
  • Diagnosing bladder stones

Benefits of Using Ultrasounds

  • Ultrasound waves are safe to use on pregnant, older, or very young patients.
  • The test is non-invasive and pain-free.
  • Because ultrasound waves produce a moving image on the screen, it can be used as a guide during surgery.
  • There are no known risks for this procedure
  • We have a mobile X-Ray unit that allows us to shoot X-Rays on large animal farm calls.
